AirNow.gov has been updated with the latest standards for fine particle pollution.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a final rule on February 7th to strengthen the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for fine particle pollution. This is also known as fine particles (PM2.5), or soot. EPA sets the annual primary PM2.5 standard (based on health) at 9.0 micrograms/cubic meter (ug/m3) in order to protect public health.

The tools at www.airnow.gov have been updated, and are a great way to check local air quality—especially during wildfire season.
